Secret Santa Exchange for 2009!!

I, teh yoshi, shall be your host for this year. Here in this board is where you'll all be exchanging wonderful gifts ranging from artwork, poetry, music, to whatever you feel like or capable of doing. Rules are very simple, guys, and because they're so simple, I doubt you'll be reading them verbatim!

Now, then...

Become a Member!
Can't participate only with your bare hands

* All you have to do is post in this thread [link] saying you want to sign up. Instead of that finicky Secret Santa website we used to use oh so traditionally, I'll make it easier this year and randomly generate the matches myself, or get a friend to do it for me.

* Deadline for signing up is December 1, 2009. So get your names in before then! That way, you'll have an entire month (and then some) to make your gift!

* As long as the gift is worth giving
The gift to your Santee is up to you! Gift art is the staple and probably the most expected, but definitely not limited to that. If you're able, feel free to go wild to your heart's desire by making things like traditional art, paintings, sculptures, music, novel-sized biographies, so forth. Although the world's your oyster, I'm not a big fan of shellfish.

And if you haven't posted a description of yourself in there yet, please do so! Any updates on your "character" would be appreciated as well.

* No threads of gift exchanges to be created until Christmas Day, December 25th

* One Santee, One Thread ［計畫題目政策］
Strictly a One-Thread Policy, folks, designated to limit thread growth in the People's Republic of Yos... Eh, basically, just don't post more than one thread. You only have one gift to contribute, and this is strictly for the exchange. If you've got other gifts to give, that would be awesome, but please post them in the Yoshi Art / Other Art boards.

* Please, please, please get those gifts in on time!
It's never fun to have anybody singled out because their Santa somehow flaked on them, valid excuse or not. It's always a sad sight to see. Santas who have not sent in their gifts in on time shall have a word with me.

* Keep up the Christmas spirit!
If you can, you should probably try keeping up the Yoshi spirit while you're at it, too! But remember, it's the holidays! Buck up and have fun now! Let's keep this a happy event everyone can feel welcome to and enjoy! Sounds like a plan, yeah? This also means the most out of your participation would be greatly appreciated! Go around and make comments for all the gifts you see! Don't just post up your own gift and remain quiet for the rest of the exchange.

* Spread the Christmas cheer, too!
It'd be helpful for everyone if you can get the word out. Tell all your friends, go bug an older member, post about it in your journal or something. Let's all come together and keep making this bigger than ever!

* Like previously mentioned, sign ups for the exchange will end at December 1, 2009. That's when you will receive your Santee and start working on your gift.

* Although it is recommended you get your gift in by the day of December, 25, the deadline for all gifts will be January 10, 2010. The reason for such a delay is because some people may be out of town for the holidays, or just plain busy to bother sitting themselves down for gifts to be served only online. Who knows?

* Posting commentaries on gifts will end January 31, 2010 and this board will be locked, stored in the annals of history, spiders seeking refuge to build their cobwebs, and to be forgotten forever and ever and ever...

Oh, and by the way, IT DOES NOT MATTER if you were once a member from years ago or just extremely inactive! This is the time everyone, and I mean everyone to come together, like a reunion! Seriously, don't feel guilty about not joining because you think you haven't been contributing much to the boards as of late. If anything, now is your chance to make a wicked comeback and give back to Yoshi's Corner. Honestly, the bigger the member list, the better!
